What is the Development Academy?

The US Soccer Development Academy program is the highest level of youth soccer in the United States.  Managed and facilitated directly by the United States Soccer Federation, FC United is one of a select few (one of two girls clubs and one of three boys clubs in the Chicagoland area) clubs to offer this pathway for its' elite-level players.

Our Development Academy (DA) ID Clinics are training sessions that help our Directors and staff identify talented players for this elite-level program.  There is no cost to participate in the FCU DA ID clinics.  However, only elite-level, serious, and competitive soccer players will be considered for the program.  At the trainings, players will be evaluated by the DA staff.  While the players are participating on the field, an FCU Director will run an informational meeting to educate parents on our club, our Development Academy program, and the pathway for players to development within our club

The Academy Program focuses on positively impacting everyday club environments to assist in maximizing youth player development across the country. The Academy values individual development of elite players over winning trophies and titles. The Academy sets the standard for elite environments for youth soccer clubs nationwide and is a part of U.S. Soccer's global leadership position in youth soccer that will impact thousands of players.
