STAN ANDERSON

Stan has been an integral part of all Goalkeeper development in his role as  Goalkeeping Director for all of our teams. Stan's knowledge, expertise and passion for both soccer and the critical position of goalkeeper will be the driving force behind the Player First Goalkeeper curriculum.

OWEN CORNELL

Years at FC United --> 2018-2022

 

College Bio --> Owen spent 3 years at the University of Notre Dame and graduated with a bachelor's in Psychology. He joined the program in 2022 and was a part of the 2023 run to the college cup final. 

In 2025, Owen joined the Flames of UIC, where he obtained an 8-2-5 record, keeping 3 clean sheets. He is a first-year master's student studying Performance, Sport, and Exercise Psychology, with the intention of graduating following the completion of his final year of eligibility in Fall 2026. 

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> In my very first preseason camp, my first year at FC United, the academy teams went up for a few days in Stevens Point, WI (most know this as the home of Camp Shutout). During this camp, we had a small-sided tournament that was decided by penalties. As the older group finished their session and strolled over to watch us youngsters (u15s), the pressure was building and the stage was set. After saving the winning penalty, then celebrating with the older guys, Coach Charlie Trout decided he wanted in on the action. Charlie stepped up to take a penalty, and sure enough, I saved that one too. The whole camp exploded, and the energy in the air was tangible. Whether it was in bantar towards Charlie, or excitement for me as a younger GK, the FCU family welcomed me with open arms that day. 

 

ALEX GROW

Years at FC United --> 2016-2018

 

College Bio -->  2020-22 Loyola Chicago (MVC/A10 NCAA D1), 2023-2025 Bradley University (MVC NCAA D1). 

Unforgettable FCU Moment ? Going to the 2016 Florida college showcase in December and being able to have such a great time with my teammates and play against teams from all across the country in front of tons of college coaches. 

 

ELISE KRONE

Years at FC United -->2012-2022

 

College Bio --> Marquette University and am a rising senior with two more years of eligibility. I will take my 5th year and graduate in December of 2027 with my MBA. 

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> GK union. I eventually wrote my college essay about the dynamics of the union, old rooster crow young rooster learn (see attached). After being on both sides of that, I’ve developed sisterhoods that have carried through my college career and have unrelentingly supported me through one of the biggest learning curves people can experience.

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> My favorite moment at FC United came when I first joined in 2018. I came in halfway through the season, but the team welcomed me in as we headed off to Phoenix for a few tournament games. I remember the team meals where I got to know many of my new teammates who would go on to be lifelong friends. 

 

MIRA ISSAR

Years at FC United --> 2018-2023

 

College Bio --> University of Wisconsin

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> When we travelled away for our California showcase tournament, and we all walked to dinner as a team, no parents or coaches. After we ate our dinner, we didn’t really want to walk all the way home and somehow found a trolley that we prayed would go back to our hotel. After taking us all around the city, which was really pretty, we finally got to the hotel, and it was a really fun experience because it was team bonding, because we didn’t know if we were getting kidnapped or even going the right way.

 

THOMAS DESLONGCHAMPS

Years at FC United --> 2016-2018

 

College Bio --> Notre Dame (posted 3 shutouts my senior season) but was part of a team that won the 2021 ACC Tournament and made it to the Final Four of the NCAA DI National Tournament. Very good experience and I'm proud of my contributions to the team.

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> My favorite memories from FCU were the many late nights spent after training--I'd flag down whatever field players I could find to shoot on me until they got tired of me saving their shots (at least that's how I remember it), and then I'd make the 1.5 hour drive back up to Milwaukee, thinking about my performance that day.

Stan's influence as a coach and a mentor can also not be understated. Those were formative years for me, and his unflinching standards played a key role in my development as a man. 

Far too many people these days are unwilling to impart "tough love." Stan has always expected excellence from me, no matter the situation, and I am deeply indebted to him.

 

FRANK PINTO

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> Making it to the quarter finals in MLSNext playoffs that was a special moment. Another great one was winning 2-0 against Chicago fire. 

 

ANNIE WELCH

Years at FC United --> Trevian SC 2012, FC United 2013-2020

 

College Bio --> Yale University 2025, B. A. Architecture, played 2 seasons on the varsity women’s soccer team before medically retiring, participated in a webinar on college athletics and concussions for The Drake Group, member of Supporting Student Athletes at Yale (SSAY)

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> Away trips for the Girls Academy. This is where most of our fun and team bonding occurred! However, my favorite memory with an FCU coach would be the big hug Stan gave me after I verbally committed to school while at a college showcase in Denver with my team.

 

ADRIAN HRVOJEVIC

Years at FC United --> 2017-2024

Professional Bio --> Hajduk Split (Croatian U19 1st Division) 

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> One time, during a half field training game my teammate missed and open goal and hit the post, the ball fell right back to him and he hit the crossbar whilst the goal was still open. My teammates and I fell to the ground laughing. This is a moment a will never forget. 

 

MICHAL MROZ

Years at FC United --> 2017-2024

 

College Bio --> Goalkeeper at the University of Evansville (UE).
Starter ever since arriving. Won the MVC tournament in 2024 and the MVC regular season in 2025. Was awarded conference goalkeeper of the year this 2025 season. Made an NCAA tournament appearance in 2024.

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> Beating Silicon Valley in the first round of 2024 MLS NEXT playoffs. It was my favorite moment because that’s when our tournament run started with the team and what a team we had.

 

KAYNE RIZVANOVICH

Years at FC United --> 2020-2024

 

Professional Bio --> Signed a professional contract for Minnesota United. I also play for the USYNT, so I included a picture of that as well.

Over 15 professional starts for MNUFC2, On the bench for two 1st team games, (MLS and Open Cup), called into 5 separate USYNT camps, unbeaten in all games with the national team.

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> A moment I will never forget during my time at FC United is winning a penalty shootout vs Inter Miami at MLS Next Flex U16 year. 

 

JAMES LEONE

Years at FC United --> 2109-2021

 

College Bio --> Hendrix College from 2021 to 2025. I was a 4-year starter and 2-year captain. I hold most goalkeeping records at Hendrix, along with being named 4 times to the All-SAA team, with two of those being first-team mentions.

Unforgettable FCU Moment -->One moment I will never forget from FCU is when we were training "back to the bar" with Stan, I learned how to fly. I had never made the saves I had in that practice, and it was one of the best feelings ever. I remember in that moment not only was I ecstatic, but so were the other GKs, as well as Stan.

 

CHAZ BOND

Years at FC United --> 2010-2020

 

College Bio --> NYU and my favorite moment was shutting out U-Chicago to pull off a big upset. Made some big saves and performing well in my hometown was a great feeling. Coolest part about playing in college was the comradory of the team and seeing my teammates consistently even after we've graduated.

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> Playing against Solar when they were the defending national champions and undefeated. Our team really came together and it was super rewarding to see the hours of training pay off.

 

ANNIE BANTER

Years at FC United --> 2019-2021

 

College Bio --> University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN from 2021 - 2025. I played my sophomore year and record 5 shutouts, 60 saves, and a 1.27 goals against average. I was an All-Summit League Honorable Mention as well.

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> My favorite FCU memories were hanging out with my fellow goalkeepers in between practices and packing dinner to eat together. We made many TikToks and had many laughs. The GK Union is truly special at FCU!

 

CARLY SIDES

Years at FC United --> 2019-2023

 

College Bio --> Northern Michigan University. I am a nursing major who plans to graduate in the year of 2028. 

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> When DA was still around, we had many bus trips that were super fun to just be around your teammates almost every weekend. We made so many memories that’ll I remember forever.  

 

CAROLINE HAGUE

Years at FC United --> 2014-2024

 

College Bio --> Denison University

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> A moment I will never forget at FCU was when my team and I won the State Cup Final in 2023. As soon as the final whistle blew everyone rushed the field and it was such an amazing feeling!

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> When I first joined academy I didn’t really feel like I belonged because everyone had been playing for so much longer than me. On one of my first away trips, the older girls got to the field during our game. I didn’t notice they were there at first, but then I made a big save and all of the older girls started cheering. It was a big moment for me because I felt such a community at FC and it helped my confidence a lot.

 

KEVIN DABROWSKI

Years at FC United --> 2017-2022

 

College Bio --> UIC: 2022-2025

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> Played at FC United for about 5 years, best thing about FC United has to be the amount of great memories I made and great friendships made as well. 
Something I’ll never forget will be working with Stan the man for 5 years at FCU then getting to work with him at UIC and busting his chops. 

 

BRADY MOODY

Years at FC United --> 2017

 

College Bio --> University of Tulsa from 2017-2021 which included a run to the NCAA tournament 3rd round and a conference regular season & tournament championship in 2021.

Since then was an assistant coach at Tulsa, then the U.S Air Force academy, and now am an assistant coach with Loyola-Chicago women’s soccer.

Unforgettable FCU Moment --> Favorite memories were always the DA winter showcase in Florida!
